My Bio
Cheryl Filipak was chosen to participate in the first cohort at Kean University receiving her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. Prior to that, she earned her M. Ed. in Early Childhood Administration and Family Studies at Kean. She is a member of the Kappa Delta Phi Honor Society and received her Teacher Fellowship in 2006 from the New Jersey Department of Education. She has been a presenter at the NAEYC Conference in Chicago, Illinois. and Anaheim, California.
Ongoing Technical Support and Assistance
She provides ongoing technical support and assistance through on-site trainings, workshops and curriculum planning. to classroom teachers, administrators, parents and community organizations including the Newark Museum and Newark School of the Arts.
Cheryl Filipak plays a significant role as part of a professional team of early childhood educators who launched one of the first highly successful public preschool programs in Newark, New Jersey. The program was recognized as a national Model of Excellence by President George W. Bush in 2002 as part of the administration’s Early Childhood Initiative.

Ms. Filipak recently earned her Ed. D. degree in Educational Leadership from Kean University in Union, New Jersey. She continues to exemplify best teaching practices as a Mentor and Master Teacher for the Office of Early Childhood in Newark, New Jersey.
